I became obsessed with Naan Pizzas after my best friend Jodi introduced me to them. Not only are they a quick and easy meal, but you can really let your creative juices flow…the toppings can be anything you want. These amazing pizzas can be cut up into small slices and served as a great party appetizer or you can turn them into a meal where everyone gets their own personal “pizza”.
As I mentioned, you can top the naan pizzas with whatever you want, but in case you are feeling apprehensive and need some guidance, this Kook has provided some tried-and-true recipes that are sure to be enjoyed. As I am not a huge fan of heavy tomato sauce on my pizza, I stuck to a roasted garlic confit (my fave!) as the base for these. One roasted garlic confit recipe (provided below) is enough for 3 naan pizzas.
Also, I would suggest using a whole wheat naan bread to get some extra nutrients in there 🙂
Arugula Salad Naan Pizza is the perfect way to add some healthy greens into the mix. Light and fresh, this is a typical easy crowd pleaser. The drizzle of the aged balsamic vinegar is sure to impress your friends/family!
Potato & Ricotta Naan Pizza is a sophisticated balance of subtlety. The cheese has a delicate flavour and the hint of sweetness from the honey makes this one a winner. Make sure you have enough for seconds.
If you are into woodsy flavours like I am, then the Mushroom and Kale Naan Pizza is your best bet. Feel free to use whatever mushrooms you like (I have tried this with shitake, portobello and even a puff ball and all have turned out great). For all the mushroom lovers out there, this one is for you.
